“Zum 24. Mal nach Bexley in die Townley Grammar School, unsere Partnerschule
Dabei dieses Mal 24 Schülerinnen und Schüler der Stufen 7 und 8
Abfahrt: Samstag, den 21.03.15 um 6 Uhr
Busfahrt nach Calais und dann mit der Fähre nach Dover (1,5 Stunden Verspätung aufgrund einer medical emergency)
Arrival at Townley Grammar School at 5pm
Off into the weekend with partners and their families (London Eye, Madame Tussaud’s, cinema, river cruise, …).
Monday morning: School life (uniforms, registration, different subjects, canteen, a thousand new impressions…).
Tuesday: From Bexley Station to Charing Cross by train, Trafalgar Square, Horse Guards, Downing Street, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St James‘ Park (…where have all the squirrels gone…?), Buckingham Palace, Mall, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street (shopping!!!), Covent Garden, Charing Cross back to Bexley Station
… long day… sore feet…but happy people…
Wednesday: From Townley to Greenwich Park by coach, the Royal Observatory and the Prime Meridian, The Cutty Sark, River Cruise to the Tower of London, Tower Bridge Exhibition, Monument, River Cruise back to Maritime Greenwich, Greenwich town, back at school at six pm
…another long and lovely day…
Thursday: Joint outing to Canterbury, 48 English and German kids on the coach, Canterbury Tales, town centre, back at school at 4 pm, time left to spend with host families (bowling, eating out, …)
Friday: Sad and tearful departure at 8 am
Trip to Dover – ferry to Calais – long trip back home
Ankunft 8.30 Uhr – wohlbehalten zurück, mit vielen neuen und guten Erfahrungen im Gepäck und Vorfreude auf den Gegenbesuch der englischen Partnerinnen im Juni”
